Course Description:

This in-person course provides a comprehensive guide to designing and implementing therapeutic exercise intervention programs using the latest evidence. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, learning to prescribe and perform exercises tailored to address common pathologies such as instability, tendinosis, and impingement. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, attendees will develop the skills needed to confidently integrate evidence-based therapeutic exercises into their clinical practice to optimize patient outcomes.

Level of Course: Intermediate

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Identify and select exercises that effectively target specific muscles, guided by EMG data and the latest evidence-based research.
  • Prescribe therapeutic exercises tailored to patients with specific pathologies, such as spinal instability, tendinosis, and impingement, based on current best practices.
  • Design and implement progressive exercise programs using evidence-based principles of progressive loading to optimize rehabilitation and performance outcomes.

Instructor Info:

Marie-Eve Pepin, PT, OMPT, MSPT, DPT

Bio: Marie-Eve Pepin, is a 1998 graduate of McGill University with a BS in Physical Therapy, a Master from Oakland University, a Doctorate from the MGH Institute and a specialization in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy from Oakland University. She is also a core faculty in the Wayne State University Physical Therapy Program. She has been teaching orthopedic content, and in particular special tests, for 19 years. She has been working as an orthopedic physical therapist for 26 years. She authored 12 peer reviewed papers with the most recent being the APTA clinical practice Guidelines for Distal Radial Fractures.
